I always see nu metal as a metal subgenre, just much lighter or different than metal as a whole. Slipknot I see as nu metal (first album and a couple songs here and there afterwords) but they're much more of a straight metal band than Korn
Looks like I'm going to the 98 Rock Fest this Saturday
3 Doors Down Seether Stone Sour Theory Of A Deadman Skillet Haletorm The Art Of Dying
I'm not paying for my ticket, so i might go just to see Stone Sour and The Art Of Dying, i also hear that TOAD and 3DD put on good shows, i know that Skillet puts on a cool show.
I don't listen to Children of Bodom. I've heard like 2 songs so I can't categorize. But Children of Decadence is thrashy like imo
And I don't care where they put bands. I consider Nu Metal a metal genre for many reasons. I've also thought this.since 1999, early 2000's. Number one, if it wasn't metal enough...metal wouldn't be in the genre title if you ask me. There would be no need for it. Number two, there is a decent amount bands that have enough "metal qualities" that don't put them in metalcore, thrash, hard rock, ect. Nu metal is their place, such as Slipknot. There's other reasons but that's all I'm going to list. I think a lot of people don't want to recognize nu metal as metal and just lump the whole genre in with hard rock, which I can understand. It's probably one of the most, if not the most contraversial metal genres there is next to deathcore and metalcore

I'd watch all if you can. They all (minus halestorm) seem like solid bands
