I would advocate them being on this list, if it wasn't a pure death metal list. I still think of Behemoth as that black metal band that went blackened death.

If you look at their whole discography then yeah but evangelion was a pure death metal album so they are now death metal

these bands, excluding Cattle Decapitation, have been and always will be death metal. Behemoth was black metal and recently went under blackened death

You don't get what he's trying to say. I understand death and black metal. I also get that this is a best DEATH metal band thread...which doesn't mean any shady areas (blackened death, melodic death, ect). Just strictly death metal. I understand your want and need for Behemoth to be on this list but I can promise you that if they were, they would get knocked off very quickly.

Nah. Evangelion truly is a Blackened Death album. The Apostasy and Demigod were straight Death Metal, as well as Zos Kia Cultus, but as I said in my original Evangelion review (The infamous one that started the infamous Mayhem exclusive "11/10" meme.) a lot of the songs on Evangelion, especially He Who Breeds Pestilence and The Seed Ov I, had parts that were VERY reminiscient of Grom and Sventevith (Storming Near The Baltic), their first 2 albums which were pure Black Metal. And Lucifer is pretty much straight Black Metal with Death vocals.

No. I gave Death Magnetic a 10/10. Which was stupid as fuck. It's about a 7 in reality. I don't even listen to it anymore except for That Was Just Your Life.
