Surprised no one has mentioned Requiem For a Dream. Not gory or scary, but defines "disturbing" in every way possible. I was unable to smile/be happy for at least two days after watching it.

sorry, but yeah, its a hard one to watch. i remember watching that for the first time starting at like 230 in the morning, and i had a hard time sleeping that night
