It's one of those things that you'll only like if you're a beginner to metal, but then can continue to like throughout time. One of the first metal bands I loved was Iron Maiden, and then I got into Slayer and the rest is history. I think if I fell in love with Napalm Death before I got into Maiden though, it would seem like pussy shit.
Here, Sear Bliss: Symphonic/Atmospheric Black Metal from Hungary. They have some great keyboards, and a trombone player in their lineup. They've even played a "Black Metal Opera"

The Arcane Order
Melodic Death out of Denmark. Flemming C Lund of Invocator is in this band, if anyone knows of them.
I think they really sound great for being only 2 albums into their career, and while their two albums aren't the most innovative albums ever, they're really really well done.

Yea there are some good bands that play the style,.... but it's a lot like black metal; in that the crap overshadows the good (bands) by 15:1
