Veteran New Jersey thrashers Overkill will join forces with reactivated San Francisco Bay Area metallers Forbidden for the second leg of the "Killfest" US tour in November. The full tour lineup and exact cities/dates will be announced on May 2, with tickets going on sale that day.
Overkill's new album, "Ironbound", sold 4,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 192 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at No. 4 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
Overkill's previous album, "Immortalis", opened with 2,800 units back in October 2007.
Forbidden recently entered Sonic Room/Audio Voyage studios in Livermore, California to begin recording its as-yet-untitled fifth studio album for a late 2010 release via Nuclear Blast Records.
