I want to give Al Avila the benefit of the doubt because he was in on the Price and Cespedes trades but seriously? That's the best they could get? I'm skeptical they couldn't have waited until the deadline and gotten at least a top 100 prospect or at least come back around and gotten this deal later. Arizona's farm system is ass and they didn't even get their best prospect.
Nah they had to deal him. The Triggers aren't contending this year unless JV returns to last year's form and Zimmermann puts it together consistently. And the bullpen is still bad. You can't let JD walk when they don't give you first round pick compensation anymore. But I still can't believe a better deal couldn't have been found.
Alex Avila also needs to get dealt, but they can hold off on Justin Wilson if they don't like the overs.
Fuck the White Sox for this one. They just served up the Yankees with the most evil bullpen in baseball. Putting Kahnle and Frazier in wasted them some prospects the could have gotten for them individually. They took Clippard to offset salary. Why the fuck would you do that when you're giving up so much and not getting multiple big name prospects back? They got more from the Cubs just for Quintana. Stupid trade
I thought I read the Red Sox were looking to get the exact same package from the White Sox. In fact there were some reports that the Red Sox got Frazier. But the Yankees obviously have the better prospects since the White Sox got the Red Sox's crown jewels in the Sale trade.
I still wonder if Kansas City is actually not going to sell. They don't look like a playoff team to me and it would be a shame to let that core walk this winter for nothing.
Sonny Gray to Yankees, Yu Darvish and relievers to Dodgers. Kintzler to Washington. The Astros got Liriano but mostly stood pat even though McCullers just went on the DL again. Odd.
I'm disappointed in the Braves. They just sat on their hands. The only player we shipped out got flipped to the Yankees 3 days later for a better return. Matt Adams should've been out as soon as Freddie came back
The market for bats was horrible. The JD Martinez return was underwhelming but no one got anything better for a bat. No deals for Granderson, Bruce, Alonso, etc. They were available.

Lucroy got traded to the Rockies for basically nothing. Amazing how far he fell since he was so coveted last year.
