that's a hell of a pick up..Mets wanted him but the said Give us Harvey or DeGrom. I'm sure division played into those demands because what they got for him doesn't match what they wanted from us. He regarded as the best defensive ss in the league
I don't get what the Braves are doing at all. They sign all these young dudes to team friendly contracts then trade them. Eventually players are gonna be like "fuck this! I'll just wait for free agency"
It sounds like the Braves got the better end of that deal doe. They got LA's best two pitxhing prospects and a middle infielder who's probably just as good as Simmons offensively. I dont know what the fuck the Angels were thinking.
It seems like the Braves are pretty good at bringing up young pitchers doe. They're probably much better off with the Braves than the Angels. My friend Max pitches for a Class A Braves affiliate. Hope he gets to the pro's in a couple years.
The Angels have a shitty farm system though. The second prospect is only expected to be a fifth starter or middle reliever at best. It just seems odd when they're asking for Matt fucking Harvey from the Mets, then settle on a prospect and some spare parts. I understand you don't wanna sell low within the division, but it's still a pretty big difference
Yankees are saying Miller is available. I hope he doesnt go anywhere but if he does, they're gonna ask for a lot in return. I was kinda koping they'd pick up Chapman or Kimbrel. Betances/Miller/Chapman combo would have niggas shitting their pants.
Even with all the injuries, starting pitching hasnt really been the problem the last couple seasons. Its usually offense. Last season ellsbury and gardner scored like half our runs then when Ellsbury got injured, we started losing a ton of games. We got off to a really good start cuz the offense was producing then Arod started to suck towards the end of the season, teixiera got injured, but the pitching kept us in the playoff race. And I think Severino is gonna be a true ace one day. If tanaka and pineda can stay healthy, starting pitching isnt gonna be the problem.
