I had honestly completely forgotten baseball was even going on till last night, I haven't cared enough since late May. Literally everyone I know has been saying how incredibly boring this season has been.
No shit. I can barely watch the Braves play this year. I really hope they do clean house this off-season like has been rumored. These assholes swing at anything. There's almost nobody with any legit speed or base running prowess. I can't even believe how many sub-.200 hitters we've suffered through this year. Fredi can't handle a bullpen for shit. The bench is absolute garbage. I don't know anyone that's happy with the Braves around here this year. At the bare minimum, we should have a new GM and hitting coach next year.
Interesting read. Personally, I think Doc Gooden's '85 season is truly the greatest ever if for no other reason than the amount of innings he pitched. It's easier to be great for shorter stretches. I think that year is underrated because of how badly he flamed out later. Also, Pedro's last year with the Expos he was actually just as good, if not better, than any season he had in Boston and Clemens' '97 season prolly shouldn't be counted because that was prolly the point he started 'roiding. John Tudor's '85 season was better anyways even though they left it off even the honorable mentions
McClain and Verlander were honorable mentions. Personally, I think Verlander's '11 season is better than Kershaw this year, once again due to innings. He was kinda slack on complete games and I'm sure they were weighting that heavily
there's a great chance! they are only 1.5 games back and the next 4 are against Toronto. They could easily sweep them. Oakland on the other-hand is playing the Angels right now and the Angels will want to lock up home-field advantage. Once that happens The Angels might bench everyone.... Last 3 Mariners games are against them. Seattle actually has a good chance of winning out IMHO. I'd give it about a 50/50 chance. Sure they are out now, but I like their odds.
No way. They have been a game and a 1/2 out for over a month. KC and detroit were playing like shit that whole time. La only needs one maybe two wins for home field, and the a's pitching will control seattle's shitty lineup. I'd put it at like 10%
The A's have the Angels and the Rangers next and the rangers have been spanking the A's lately. They could fall out of the picture if they keep playing the way they are.

13-13 record, but with just a 2.88 ERA :-<

Carlton winning 27 games for a team that didn't even win 60 games is amazing
