The gap between second baseman Robinson Cano and the New York Yankees on a new contract is enormous, with sources telling ESPN's Buster Olney that the soon-to-be free agent is seeking approximately $305 million over 10 years.
People familiar with Cano's thinking have a sense that he will take the biggest offer he receives this winter, regardless of whether it comes from the Yankees or another team.
Tampa will play at Texas tomorrow for the second AL wild card spot. The winner of that game will play Cleveland in the wild card game on Wednesday. Crazy.
I'm curious what they expected from him. They've basically torn apart the team the entire time he's been there.
They keep insisting that it was his lack of being able to develop the younger players over the last 2 years but I think that is a load of crap. Not much any coach can do when you're gutting a team top to bottom and starting over.

I think Craig Biggio is definitely one of them.
Also, I'm pretty sure the Phillies paid off the umps before the game.
Even though he's always been playing against the Braves, I've always respected him as a player. I hope he can come back with some team next year.
