Is it just me or is there no hype or buzz about this coming baseball season? Less than I can ever remember. It starts in 5 days.

Well yeah the Angels are loaded but it doesn't mean it's a foregone conclusion that they will win the WS. I mean they still have to play the season. Where is the hype?
It depends on which team you're involved with. The reds have a lot going on and high expectations. I'd imagine its the same if you're an angels fan. Detroit or san fran are also teams that probably have a lot going on around the city about them

We were talking AL....and adding josh Hamilton is going to help but they didn't even make the playoffs last year....there pitching is average....the blue jays are gonna be hella good probably...and they will benefit from the Red Sox and Yankees being horrible

The Angels may not have made the playoffs, but they actually had a better record than the Tigers AND they played in a way tougher division then the Tigers play in.
Yeah but the tigers had an all star out the entire year...people keep forgetting how good vmart is.....either way I'm happy baseball is back so we can all talk shit and have our yearly discussion about the DH <:-P

How do u figure? Last year the Trigers were hyped so much that they were gonna win 120 games and couldnt be touched and just hand them the WS trophy now and what did they do? They underachieved all year and BARELY got in the playoffs. Remember if the Sox didn't choke and go 3-7 in the last 10 games the Tigers would not of even made the playoffs. X(
Detroit will probably win the division, but they are an aging team who's problems from last year haven't gone away. They still will be terrible defensively, have no speed, a questionable bullpen, and will have trouble scoring runs at times due to relying too much on the HR.
I'm realistic about my team. I hope they do well but my expectations aren't that high. But I think they potentially could have a solid year and challenge for the division.

Speaking of the DH I forget who but some sports announcer was discussing it and the quote about one day we will all operate under the same rules. The announcer said throughout the sport they have noticed a shift to people favoring the NL rules. Also the dh was only created to save the AL since they were dying with attendance and needed to generate some sort of hype for revenue.
I have personally shifted a bit. I like there being separate rules for each league. Its part of what makes baseball unique.

Oh shit thats right because of Houston right? Wow thats pretty dumb, I didnt realize it would result in interleague play all year. Exactly my point tho, of how nobody is talking about baseball. I listen to ESPN radio nationally all day and the only thing thats been talked about the last couple weeks is the Heat, March Madness, and NFL free agency. There has been zero hype about baseball. It's just kinda weird is all. I remember usually hearing about baseball WAY more with 4 days left until the season starts.
