I wouldn't mind giving up Oliver....I don't like him. Porcello and Turner need to stay though, we need stability in our rotation if we're going to contend in the future...
and neither of those guys have proven stability even tho they are young and very well could be (PLEASE) studs.....my dream situation would be to trade for roy oswalt and then sign cliff lee <_>
We don't have many top prospects....we need to at least see what Turner has. I think Porcello will be fine, he showed he can do it last year. If we get those two with Verlander and Scherzer, we have a hell of a rotation.
I would take Cliff Lee but not Oswalt. We need a lefty in our staff and the dude just wins.
thats what happens when you lose inge (who has was hitting around .300 in july and playing gold glove d and healthy for the first time in over a year) and 2 of your top 3 hitters
There's also the little fact that our lineup consists of a shitload of minor leaguers right now, Brennan Boesch can't get a hit to save his life, no one knows how to hit with runners on base, and Miggy basically got the red carpet treatment to first base every game...nevertheless, a no-hitter is hard to do so good on Garza. I just wish it could have come at a different time.
WASHINGTON -- Rookie right-hander Stephen Strasburg went on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with inflammation in his throwing shoulder, the latest indication of how careful the Washington Nationals are being with their prized pitcher.
"They're taking every precaution with me, obviously," Strasburg said.
It's the first trip to the DL for Strasburg, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 amateur draft and signed a record $15.1 million contract.
"If he's 90 percent healthy, we shut him down," Washington manager Jim Riggleman said. "He's got to be 100 percent."
Riggleman said the Nationals expect Strasburg to pitch again for them this season. It's possible he could begin his road back by playing catch Saturday.

The next day, the Mariners score 5 in the first two.
It's amazing how sad this team looks now......god this has been painful to watch.
Shiss gittin good
and none of you barely mentioned it, but as a Rays fan, I will give Matt Garza his due props. masterclass of a pitching performance.

Trade deadline is almost here. Looks like the Yankees and Rays are jockeying for Adam Dunn.
