This has been one long phase...
people at work are always surprised to find out that i am a metal head. I dont have long hair, dont drink, dont do drugs, dress nice for work, work in a cube, and everyone likes to work with me on projects. then they ask me what i am doing for the weekend, and i mention going to a club to see a metal show and they look at me like i have three heads
That's probably what I get most often, especially when I was in high school. Some of my friends thought I was "emo" and was going to slit my wrists because I was listening to music with harsh vocals (mostly stuff like early Bodom and Amon Amarth back then), and they thought anything with harsh vocals was emo.
I still get some people in college who go "Oh you listen to screamo" and once the entire left side of my body stops twitching I attempt to explain very briefly that there is an enormous difference between screamo and what I listen to.

About the same for me, just last Wednesday I had a kid insult me for listening to "emo" music. I was mega pissed.
I hate that.
Pretty much this but mostly they just assume i am anti religion but i dont take much offense cuz i dont really care. plus people then think thats all i listen to...
Those are the ones I get a lot, although I do hate a lot of people at my school
