I wrote an ode to metal for English class.
figured you guys will enjoy this more than my class/teacher will.
What a sweet tune you sing, dear old metal.
For no other type of music will I settle.
There are many different genres of you,
Black, death, Viking, heavy, and nu.
No other music can compare,
All other genres just sit and stare.
Your lyrics are brutal, your speed is fast,
If music were school, you’d be top of the class.
You even have a sport, the sport of headbanging,
And moshing is your main form of dancing.
The louder you are, the better you are,
Then you’ll be heard from near and far.
Meshuggah, GWAR, Pig Destroyer, 1349,
Your band names are weird but I think you’re fine.
Metal, you always suit my mood,
Even though your lyrics can be vulgar and rude.
Metal, metal, you’re the one,
I want to be there when the day is done.
Listening to something else would just not be fair,
The Jonas Brothers will never compare.
