anybody here a fan?
"Post-rock is a term of rock music characterized by the use of musical instruments commonly associated with rock music, but using rhythms, harmonies, melodies, timbre, and chord progressions that are not usually found in rock tradition. It is the use of "rock instrumentation" for non-rock purposes. Practitioners of the genre's style typically produce instrumental music"

I don't think he posted much on the old forum, but he posted on the nu forum quite a bit. I don't want this to become some cult either, let other people join if they want...

sometimes it gets bundled up with someshit called "Shoegaze"... for some bands it's the case; but its not the norm. Some other bands aren't just Post-Rock; some incorporate ambient, folk music, even black metal.
It's something that i would have never imagined i liked, say a year or so ago.... but it's just grown on me. Its just a type of music that calms me the most (even though it can get pretty chaotic).... its very cathartic.
Metal really really does that to me.

Crippled Black Phoenix has got to be my favorite band.... "200 Tons of Bad Luck" was a great album; an album you'd listen to if you were stranded in some shitty village in barren New Mexico or something. They sometimes show a lot of pink floyd influence in their songs
nah, i was in a board (similar) to this one.... but that spawned from Ozzfest board. They called us Rammies... or someshit. I think JORM is one too. (could be wrong though)

Im no expert or anything... but i like these:
God is an Astronaut
Tides from Nebula
Yndi Halda <--- some of the best music I'VE ever listened to
If These Trees Could Talk
This Will Destroy You
Godspeed You! Black Emperor is good, and I like God is an Astronaut.
