idk... it hasnt leaked yet. I don't remember "The Illusion of Progress" being bad, but I must confess I dont remember that album at all. I need to relisten to it. I loved Chapter V, Break the Cycle, Dysfunction, and Tormented. 14 Shades of Grey had a few standouts, but overall was a pretty shitty album.
Aaron Lewis has said that the new self titled is going to be their heaviest yet. He said that even the softest song on the new album hits harder then the heaviest song on the last album.

YES! \m/
Finally someone who agrees!! I don't know about you, but I have the hardest of times finding anyone who likes that band as much as I do. They arent my favorite but Aaron Lewis is a sick vocalist.
and I listened to "The Illusion of Progress" today and the album isnt bad. Its got quite a few decent songs but where they fucked up with it is they really needed heavier shit between all those slow songs. Overall I like "The Illusion of Progress" more then "14 shades of grey". If I remember correctly, "14 shades of grey" had some spotty production issues which is not excusable.
I know a good amount of people who like their old stuff but aren't as happy about the recent stuff. I've seen them twice and I think they're great. I can't wait to see them live again with a fresh set of these heavy new songs.
Aaron Lewis is a piece of shit.....Staind's first album was pretty good, but I never cared for any of the ballad driven cd's that followed....I'm sure they have some songs i haven't heard that u guise will tell me are great.....i hope A. Lewis gets paralyzed in a car wreck....

I've never seen them in concert and in general I'm always afraid to see bands like this in concert. I imagine the crowd interaction would be pretty gay; a lot of hand holding and giving each other hand jobs. I accidentally found myself at a Serj Tankian concert once and it was one of the gayest concerts I've ever witnessed. I made sure to bang my wife the moment i got home to make sure I was still straight. If It isn't Death Metal, Thrash metal, or some classic rock legend, I am not interested in seeing you live. That doesnt mean I dont like them on album.
