I didn't really notice until I redownloaded Metridium Fields in 320 and that shit was fucking amazing. I did the same with all my Agalloch, Bathory, Grayceon, Immortal, etc and the difference was enormous.

I think really layered ones certainly are worth your time to re-download.

I wouldn't go and redownload every single album, but some are necessary.
